June 13, 2011

Well now, it keeps on getting better and better. This has to be so far the best few days in my life. Paris is of course a fabulous place, but the people I am surrounded by are making this even more special. First of all, let me just say that after a long day of walking , the girls agreed to walk with me to the Nike Paris store ...IN THE RAIN. I really appreciated it, because it really proves that we are all there for each other. The Parisian department stores this morning were beautiful, however extremely pricey and I wound up empty handed. However, don't get me wrong my friends, today was not nearly a bust at all . I wound up purchasing 12 macarons today. Tomorrow I need to cut that bologna out, but it was worth the 20 euros today.
We also went on a chocolate tour where we basically learned that chocolate is good for you and is just as important to Paris as its haute couture. VERY GOOD TO KNOW. Not to mention, we sampled chocolate from Angelina's where they make the best hot chocolate concoction. It is like molten chocolate goddesses melting and oozing in your mouth simultaneously while frolicking about in a field of sunflowers. Off the deep end explanation? Yes. Well, it deserves it. Each hot chocolate is 26 euros. Aka roughly 35 USD. You gotta be making the benjamins to be able to add that to your love handles! Oh well, totally going back and buying it.

We then walked about an hour to find the Arc De Triomphe, eventually found it , then it was fascinating. We climbed up to the top and I almost cried. Its just so breathtaking.

I know I keep on reiterating this, but I AM HAVING THE TIME OF MY LIFE. LITERALLY THE BEST THING I EVER DID.

After the Arc De Triomphe, the group went to Relais Odeon which was the best dinner we had so far. They even gave us happy hour after the legit happy hour! Its so nice just to sit down with a group of people who understand you right off the bat and just talk with absolutely no drama or bones to pick. We are all here for the same reasons and we're making the absolute best of it. We're still getting picked on for being American, but we were able to earn a few roses from some french waiters at the restaurant.

Also, we keep telling ourselves " oh, tonight we'll cash it in early and eat an early dinner." Nope. we get our second winds, and the night prevails. My stomach also prevails with its expansion.
